Caregiver Support: Preparing simple meals for the client.

Not Included:

Meals that require extensive preparation,  numerous ingredients or cooking steps, multiple separately prepared dishes, or significant hands-on cooking time that takes the caregiver away from the client or interferes with the client’s scheduled care.

Caregivers are responsible for cleaning the items and immediate area they use while preparing the client’s meal. They are not responsible for the household’s general cooking or kitchen cleanup.

Caregiver Support: Washing dishes used for the client‘s care/meals

Not Included : 

Washing a household’s accumulated dishes. Taking responsibility for general kitchen cleanup created by the household.

Caregiver Support: Light tidying of the client’s immediate living area. Light cleanup related to caregiving tasks

Not Included:

 Scrubbing, heavy cleaning, or maid/housekeeping duties. Cleaning  up after other household members or maintaining SHARED spaces such as the living room, kitchen, or family room.

Caregiver Support: Client laundry and linens

Not Included: 

Laundry for other household members. Laundry for spouses, children, relatives, roommates, guests, or other household members; sorting or completing mixed household laundry; large amounts of accumulated or backlogged laundry; hand-washing or special-care garments requiring specialized cleaning; dry-cleaning tasks; ironing large quantities of clothing; or routinely washing household items unrelated to the client’s care.

Caregiver Support: Making/changing the client‘s bed.

Not Included:

Making beds, changing linens, and/or cleaning bedrooms used solely by other household members.

Caregiver Support: Assistance with the client’s everyday personal care and routines, including bathing, dressing, grooming, oral care, toileting, incontinence care, mobility assistance, transferring, and reminders or assistance with daily routines. Care is provided respectfully while encouraging the client to maintain as much independence as possible.

Not Included: 

Medical or skilled-nursing tasks outside the caregiver’s authorized role, services for other household members, or personal-care tasks that are not included in the client’s approved care plan.

Caregiver Support

Grocery shopping for the client
Prescription pickup
Personal-care and household necessities for the client
Post office or other essential local errands
Accompanying the client on approved outings.

Not Included

Errands or shopping for other household members
Party or event shopping
Unrelated or excessive stops
Use of the caregiver’s personal funds
Unapproved passengers or trips

Caregiver Support:
Transportation support may include accompanying the client to approved appointments, grocery shopping, errands, and other planned local outings. All transportation must be based on the client’s care plan and arranged in advance according to Heartfelt Companions’ transportation policies. 

Not Included

 Transportation is not provided for other household members, unapproved trips or passengers, long-distance or overnight travel, or activities unrelated to the client’s care and needs. The caregiver’s personal vehicle may only be used with prior approval and in accordance with Heartfelt Companions’ transportation policies. 

Caregiver Support:
Approved gentle, non-impact movement activities and stretching appropriate to the client’s abilities. 

Not Included:
Physical therapy, rehabilitation, strenuous or high-impact exercise, medically prescribed exercise programs, or movement activities that have not been approved for the client.

 ***Not all clients will be appropriate for movement services; gentle stretching may be an option when appropriate and approved. ***

Caregiver Support

Conversation and social interaction
Reading, games, puzzles, and hobbies
Accompanying the client on walks or approved outings
Spending meaningful time together
Encouraging engagement in enjoyable activities

Not Included

Managing family conflicts or personal affairs
Providing services for other household members
Financial or legal decision-making
Activities outside the client’s care plan or caregiver’s role

Services are based on each client’s individual needs, care plan, and approved level of support. Not every service is appropriate or available for every client.
